Vivo is the new X Fold+, a version of the Vivo X Fold launched earlier this year. As had already emerged from the rumors, the differences compared to the previous model are not many and concern more than anything else some refinements that aim to make the Vivo foldable more updated and performing.

In particular, we are witnessing the transition to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 platform which, flanked by an increase in the battery from 4,600 to 4,730 mAh, allows the smartphone to get up to 2 hours more use than the predecessor. This is an improvement that is also accompanied by a slight performance jump – about 10% – in line with that recorded by all other smartphones equipped with this chip.

Vivo has also introduced a new custom chip dedicated to security, called SPU, and has further improved the charging capabilities of the X Fold+, which now supports 80 W, against the 66 W of the predecessor, which now allows you to reach 70% in just 18 minutes and full charge in 35 minutes. 50W wireless charging remains unchanged.

Among the other novelties we find the new huaxia red color, which offers a leather-like finish on the back, which joins the other two already present. Overall these are the main innovations compared to the last generation, while for the rest we find specifications very similar to the first X Fold.

In particular, we find an 8″ UTG folding display with 4:3.55 format and 2K+ resolution and fingerprint sensor under the display. The front screen remains a 6.53″ unit, FHD+ and also in this case we find the biometric sensor.

No news also on the photographic front, since we find the same sector consisting of a main 50 MegaPixel, a wide angle 48 MegaPixel, a 2x tele 12 MP and a periscopic zoom of 8 MP (5x optical and 60x digital). We conclude by mentioning the memory cuts – 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256/512 GB of UFS 3.1 internal memory – and the inclusion of several software features that allow you to use Vivo X Fold+ even in various angles, thanks to the hinge that allows you to lock the panel in different positions.

Vivo X Fold+ is available for pre-orders only in China starting today, with availability from September 29 at a price of 9,999 yuan (about 1,446 euros) for the 12/256 model, while it goes to 10,999 yuan (about 1,590 euros) for the 12/512 GB version. Both variants are offered with an 80 W charger with double Type-C port included in the package. There are no details about availability in Europe.
