The trajectory of tablets in the mobile market is curious. Popularized from 2010, with the launch of the iPad, this type of device has already been considered as the replacement of PCs and, as soon as it gained the possibility of making calls, such as the device that would extinguish smartphones. The problem is that he frustrated both predictions.

In fact, the opposite of that happened. Smartphones gained larger screens and, with models ranging from 5 to 5.7 inches, users noticed that a phone with these dimensions did almost the same thing as a tablet – and still fit in the pocket. So why have both? And the tablets missed the stake.

The same thing happened in the dispute and tablets and PCs. Many said that the first would kill the second for good, since, in a short time, it would have the same processing capacity, with the advantage of being much more portable. In the end, tablets that could have more silly settings were much more expensive than notebooks or desktops, and were very uncomfortable to work for a long period. And once again they stayed behind.

With that, it was no surprise when tablet sales began to go downhill. A February 2016 IDC report indicates that the marketing of this type of device fell 10.1% in 2015 compared to 2014.  In the last quarter of last year, when we had the Christmas holidays, the performance was even worse: the drop was 13.7% compared to the same period a year earlier. That is, the public would have lost interest in tablets. But…
