Very interesting announcements for video game fans who in 2025 will be able to get their hands on the early access version for Steam of the sequel to Slay the Spire, the highly appreciated hybrid between roguelike and deck building made by the independent team Mega Crit.

Instead, we are talking about next August 30 for the launch of Star Wars Outlaws, the ambitious open-world title made by Massive Entertainment, published by Ubisoft and based on the same engine as Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

The very short animated short that announces Slay the Spire 2 doesn’t say much, but to tell us something more about the game the developers have taken care of talking about new cards, revisited mechanics and new assassins. All based on an all-new graphics engine, with better modding support and other unspecified modern features. For the moment, the only version announced is the one for PC.

Expectations for Slay the Spire 2 are quite high. Released in early access on Steam in 2017, the first chapter surpassed 1.5 million copies sold in March 2019, two months after the launch of the official stable version. During the same year, it also arrived on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One and then landed on iOS in 2020 and Android in 2021. The developers have never revealed the overall number of copies sold, but we can assume that it is quite high.

Being disappointed by open world titles, which are less and less innovative and more and more tied to repetitive dynamics, has become almost a practice. But we hope things will be different with Star Wars Outlaws. On the other hand, it promises a high-level narrative sector, among other things also the protagonist of the new trailer that you find a little higher, and a varied experience thanks to stealth mechanics, space combat and a complex reputation system.

To this must then be added the impressions of the colleagues of Game Informer who, invited to try the title in preview, praised the work of Massive Entertainment. The release, as we said, is set for August 30. The PS5 and Xbox Series X/S version will cost €79.99 while the PC version will cost €69.99. Buyers of the expensive Gold and Ultimate special editions will be able to fire up their speeders starting August 27.
