An iPhone 14, but with one less camera. This could simplify the description of the design, which, according to rumors, will not be launched by Apple before 2025.

For this iPhone SE, in fact, a radical change would have been planned by the Cupertino company that will sanction both the definitive abandonment of the design of the iPhone 8 (in turn derived from that of the iPhone 6 of 2014) and the end of Touch ID, the biometric authentication system through fingerprint recognition that Apple has replaced in recent years with Face ID.

The next-generation iPhone SE would largely reuse the design of the iPhone 14, including the “notch” for the front cameras and TrueDepth sensors. No Dynamic Island, therefore, as had been speculated in recent weeks. Instead, there should be a 6.1-inch OLED display and a single rear camera. There would also be the side action button, which made its debut on the current iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, and the USB-C port.

All these rumors, which have been circulating for months now, would also find further confirmation in some CAD drawings, shared in the past few hours by the Indian technology blog 91Mobiles, which highlight the presence of the 6.1-inch display with the notch and the single rear camera (probably 48MP) with flash and microphone. There would seem to be no trace of the hypothetical “pill” vertical island similar to the one planned for the upcoming iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. The dimensions are expected to be 147 x 71.5 x 7.7mm, almost identical to the iPhone 14 which is 146.7mm tall, 71.5mm wide and 7.8mm thick.

The current iPhone SE, launched in March 2022, has a 4.7-inch LCD display, Touch ID, support for 5G networks, a 12-megapixel rear camera, and the Apple A15 Bionic processor. In Italy, the iPhone SE retails from €559 in a 64GB version. For the 128GB version you need 629 euros and for the one with 256GB the price is 759 euros. The first iPhone SE, launched in 2016, was similar in design to the iPhone 5/5S and had a 4-inch display.
