As much as big news from Samsung was not expected at Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress, the South Korean company would evidently not go unnoticed. And one of the facts to be reported about Galaxy Note. Those who have already become fans of the 5.3″ version of the Galaxy Note, but have not yet decided to buy it, a new “torment” should be part of the final decision: buy a Galaxy Note of 5.3″ or a 10.1″? Some questions are yet to be unseen regarding the Galaxy Note 10.1, especially with regard to its compatibility with existing applications and even about its price.

Let’s say that by its technical specifications, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 does not bring a major advance if we compare it with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. In this sense, it is more recommended for those who have no tablet than for those who are interested in having a new one, especially if the current one is the Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 technical specifications

  • 1.4 GHz dual core processor
  • 3MP rear camera and 2MP front camera
  • Android Ice Cream Sandwich
  • models with 16, 32, and 64 GB
  • screen with 1280 x 800 screen resolution (same as original Note)
  • 7000 mah battery
  • S pen
  • card for memory expansion (yes it’s interesting)
  • 8.9mm thick

As stated before, this is not a major advance in terms of technical specifications if we take into account that Samsung already has on the market the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. A new tablet with a quad core processor would be even more celebrated, no doubt… The Galaxy Note 10.1 only becomes differentiated, finally, due to the existence of a memory expansion card and by its pen.

Anyway, it all leads to the belief that the day of Samsung’s big presentations – or at least one of the days – would be March 15 in Amsterdam. The South Korean company will present its line-up for 2012 in the Dutch capital. Wait to see what’s going to happen again in a few days…
