Samsung officially announced in Brazil the launch of the Galaxy M52 5G phone. The handset is the first model of the intermediate line to have support for 5G networks, thanks to the powerful Processor Snapdragon 778G. The M52 5G stands out for the large 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen, with an update rate of 120 Hz.

Straight to the point:

  • Galaxy M52 5G is the first model of the M family with 5G;
  • FullHD+ 6.7” screen promises fluid graphics with 120 Hz update;
  • Despite the 5,000 mAh battery, model is 7.4 mm thick.

The South Korean manufacturer points out that the handset is the “thinnest and most powerful” of the entire Galaxy M family.

The Galaxy M family has stood out for its huge batteries, but the Galaxy M52 is a little out of the rule with its 5,000 mAh. Although large, the capacity does not come close to the 7,000 mAh found on the Galaxy M51, but the use of a more modern and efficient processor can help contain power consumption.

The use of a smaller battery has reduced the measurements of the phone, which Samsung highlights as the “thinnest Galaxy M ever created”. At 7.4 mm thick and 173 grams, the Galaxy M52 is considerably more compact and lightweight than the M51 (which is 9.5 mm thick and 213 grams).

The Galaxy M52’s screen is another highlight of the device, keeping the same 6.7-inch and FullHD+ resolution as the previous model, but now with a 120 Hz refresh rate, for smoother animations and games.

On the photographic part, the Galaxy M52 brings a configuration similar to that of the predecessor M51, but does not include the depth sensor — which we agree usually only does figuration. The main sensor is 64 megapixels and is accompanied by a 123° ultra-angle camera with 12 megapixels and a 5 MP macro sensor. The selfie camera has 32 MP.

To complete the specifications, the Galaxy M52 has a fingerprint reader on the side and a microSD card reader, but does not include headphone output.

The Galaxy M52 5G arrives in Brazil as a kind of more affordable version of the Galaxy A52s, with the same processor, but a simpler set of cameras. The model differs by the larger screen and battery. It remains to be seen how Samsung will avoid direct competition between the models.
